Advanced Sioux Falls Fall Pitching

Additional instructors will be helping out in order to keep a 4-1 player to coach ratio.

Advanced Pitching

Clinic Goal: Help develop a mental picture and body awareness to throw the advanced

movement pitches. Simply put; “make the ball move” Clinic format may vary depending

on the needs of the participants. The general plan is to spend one day on each of the

advanced movement pitches, to help them develop better spin, and in turn more

movement which will help them to maximize their pitching potential.

Format

Day one: Players will be videoed throwing all of the pitches that they are currently

throwing. The remaining time will be used to work on the mechanics that are essential in developing speed and movement in multiple planes. 

Prior to the next clinic date: Their mechanics will be analyzed using advanced motion

analysis software. This analysis will be used to help show the players not only how they

throw the pitch but also to show them different techniques that they can try to possibly

get better spin on the ball which will create more movement for their pitch.

This will allow them to get closer to maximizing their pitching potential. The analysis

will be followed by specific drills that each player can use to help improve the spin of

that pitch.

Day two: (Rise Ball) 

We will begin by talking about the rise ball and what a good rise ball looks like. Then we will look at the advanced video analysis of their rise balls. After

watching the video we will go over specific drills that each player can practice on their

own to help them develop the spin that they are looking for with the rise ball. 

Day three: (Drop)

We will begin by talking about the drop ball and what a good drop ball looks like. Then we will look at the advanced video analysis of their drop ball. After

watching the video we will go over specific drills that each player can practice on their

own to help them develop the spin that they are looking for with the drop ball. 

Day four: (Curve/Screw)

We will begin by talking about the curve ball and what a good curve ball looks like. Then we will look at the advanced video analysis of their curve ball. After

watching the video we will go over specific drills that each player can practice on their

Day five (change up)

We will begin by talking about the change up and what makes a great change up effective. Then we will look at the advanced video analysis of their change up. After

watching the video we will go over specific drills that each player can practice on their

own to help them develop the deception and change in speed that they are looking for with the change up. 

Cost $100.00 (for 5 weeks of clinics)

Clinic will be limited to a certain number of players. Clinic will be filled on a first come first serve basis and will fill up quickly.
